1970's Song called San Bernardino

No words can describe this song, from 1970, about wanting to get back to one's roots in San Bernardino (although the song is spelled San Bernadino). In addition, there are some very hip looking cats in the audience of this performance. The band is from Yorkshire England. This is at least an 8.5-9 on the oddness meter, if not more. This song was written only a few years after Hunter S. Thompson chronicled The Hells Angels and other biker gangs of San Berdo. Ontario was a farm, tract development was almost a decade away in Rialto, and Rancho Cucamonga was still in the minds of radio listeners as being a Mel Blanc/Jack Benny Joke. There was no 909 areacode, and people still traveled on Route 66.

MEDICAL LEAVE LAWS DUE TO MASS SHOOTINGS

Some years back we wrote about the tragic shooting in San Bernardino. Unfortunately gun violence has been on the rise. We have been asked what legal rights victims and loved ones might have.

Trauma caused by mass shootings should receive protection under the Family Medical Leave Act/CFRA for eligible employees. If not there are California Labor Codes that allow victims of violence time off. Another avenue might be California Labor Code Section 233 which provides job protections against terminations due to sickness if a certain amount of sick time is banked.

Victims of sudden, unexpected events at work may be able to file a work stres case. Store robberies used to be the example. Unfortunately, examples today include hostage situations and mass shootings in the workplace.
