Sometimes third-party administrators administrate FMLA and other leaves of absences for employers. I have had numerous cases in which the third-party administrator loses papers certifying a leave of absence, or makes an erroneous interpretation FMLA is the only leave available when longer disability or pregnancy rights exist.
